I know how that goes. I like to over-research big purchases myself and get nice and confused!

I am having a LOT of fun following Ron's trials and tribulations with this decision. ..and learning a lot in the process. If it was me, I'd wait for the announcement for the new technology and then try to pick off a nice price on the last generation technology from someone who wants to upgrade.

The higher the flash the better, Ron. The Cybershot raises it some...but not as much as will eliminate red eye altogether. But, honestly, we have had very few red eye issues with that camera. Another nice thing is that it's easy to turn the flash off and, in many instances, is not needed...

I am following this thread with great interest. I consider myself a pretty good amateur photographer (with just enough knowledge to be dangerous).
