Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

The words aren't fresh in my head, but my recollection is that he kinda did. OB1 retorted that his loyalties were to the republic, same as he said earlier in the film when he asked Anakin to commit "treason" and spy on Palpatine. Anyway, there could be no teaming at that point. Anakin was...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Anakin's attachment to OB1 is greater than his attachment to the Jedi children. He hasn't spent much time around those children. What would have stopped most of us, the inherent innocence of the children (played quite well, I might add), was no obstacle for Anakin. Sidious primed him quite well...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Question: How do you know if you haven't seen them? Answer To Your Question: Because their quality threshhold is different from yours. It's not necessarily an either-or proposition. Some fans go see it in the movies and have it at home to watch and study. I think the so-called workprint...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Good summary, FredK. I have no problem seeing (or accepting) that Yoda failed in his mission. It's just that I was surprised to see a few places that folks think Yoda turned tail and ran because Sidious was more powerful and kicked his butt. That isn't what I saw -- at least when I had a...

You didn't rebut any of the points I layed out. Further, following your logic, if Yoda simply let Sidious leave when Sidious wanted to, that would prove Yoda was the strongest and you would have declared him the winner (because Sidious would have cut and run). I just can't access that logic.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Essentially, Yes. All Jedi must because they cannot give into certain things. Tell me, if Anakin hadn't made that jump, what do you think OB1 would have done? He certainly couldn't leave Anakin to be a Dark Lord of the Sith. So why warn him against making the jump? Was he there to destroy Anakin...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

I accept your evaluation criteria even if I disagree with it in this case. Even in sports, anybody can have a bad day, so the team (or person) that wins isn't necessarily the best; all you can really say is they were the best that day. For all practical purposes, that's a good enough assessment...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

I don't agree that Sidious is more powerful than Yoda. Here's my ranking... Yoda Sidious Dooku Windu Obi Wan I'm not sure where Anakin goes. Obi Wan clearly says Anakin is a more powerful Jedi than he could ever hope to be, but then Obi Wan tends to be tongue in cheek and rather self...
