I'm optimistic too. He's showing a lot of courage showing up at his film festival this weekend. As much as I enjoy his television appearances, it's his writing I miss the most. His Movie Home Companion books have always been staples in my house.

He's now been hospitalized for over five straight weeks, which comes across to me as an ominous sign.
In his continuing battle against cancer, Roger Ebert is scheduled to undergo surgery later this month for removal of a salivary gland tumor. Here's to wishing him the best of luck in advance. :emoji_thumbsup:
