    Ebert and his wife did an interview with a local Chicago news station in November where they revealed that one final surgery was planned that hopefully would restore Roger's ability to speak.     I'm optimistic too. He's showing a lot of courage showing up at his film festival this weekend. As much as I enjoy his television appearances, it's his writing I miss the most. His Movie Home Companion books have always been staples in my house.

    Looks like he had another setback Roger Ebert has more surgery He's now been hospitalized for over five straight weeks, which comes across to me as an ominous sign.
