    Scott, you may want to invest in a BFD ($130 or so) to equalize the sub's response. With a sealed sub, you'll still have the same room response problems (and they'll be worse if you are restricted to certain convenient positions). If you plug up the port on your sub how does the sound change?

    Scott, Below Vas usually, unless you want a real low Q. Since you've decided on a box size, the Q is determined by the driver. In that enclosure (stuffed) a Tempest is about Q=.56, and an AV15 is about 0.5, both of which are very "tight." (Correct me if I'm wrong with those numbers.) Most any...
