"The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian"

Indeed. Reepicheep is a character that could so easily be played for laughs, especially when you get a comedian to provide the voice. So it's good to know that they are trying to protect the dignity and honour of one of the best characters in the entire series.

"The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian"

But of course they're going to deny it. We'll just have to wait and see what actually happens.

"The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian"

Very impressive trailer - makes the film look better than TLTWATW. Still anxious about how they'll make the story work, but I'm still looking forward to it. That is exactly what happens in the book. They find themselves in Narnia by some ruins, spend a while wondering where they are until they...

"The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian"

Ah, that's right, now I remember his reunion with Rillian in the book. Didn't Aslan appear and tell him to return home, and his son would be waiting for him. I still think it would make more sense to hire an older actor to play Caspian in The Silver Chair, and hold on to Barnes for The Last...

"The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian"

Ricardo, Does that happen during The Silver Chairm, though? I can't remember it off the top of my head, and I can't think where in the narrative it would happen. The Last Battle would make more sense.

"The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian"

Ben Barnes's IMDb entry Caspian and Dawn Treader make sense - Dawn Treader is set about 10 years later, so he should be able to play that. But in The Silver Chair (at least according to the book), it's a short cameo appearance seen from a long way off by Caspian as an old man about to die, and...

"The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian"

The comments about moving straight into filming Dawn Treader may explain the reason for the interview I referred to back here where the visual effects supervisor was talking about the ship appearing in the film. He could easily have just been getting the two films confused - especially since the...

True. I misread it. Have edited my post.

"The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian"

Some information has just come available from Entertainment Weekly on the approach being taken to the next few films. You can read the actual article here, or else read the Dark Horizons summary. In essence: * Caspian will not be combined with any of the other books (which is a relief)...

"The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian"

Could be, although that could give the film a "There's a new film coming out soon" feel.

"The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian"

True. In fact, I hope that is the case. But that would be quite an expansion to the original book, as there is nowhere in the original book where they could, as far as I can think of, even include a Dawn Treader-like boat. Not that expansion is a bad thing because, as I have already said...

"The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian"

Frankly, the more I think about compressing Caspian and Treader, the less I like it and the more convinced I am that it just couldn't work.

"The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian"

Since Chris has reposted his thoughts from the Box Office thread, I may as well repost my original comments that he was commenting on: I wouldn't suggest that Caspian should be a three-hour film - it never could be. But I think you could be stretching it to make even a 90-minute film.
