I know, as I said before...I was referring to the shadow men not the modern council. I finished up the season last night, and had forgotten about the women that created the scythe. They're described as the women that watch the Watchers (the early Watchers, that is). I think that further goes to...
I just re-watched the episode last night, and it re-affirmed my original beliefs. She turns down the power when she understands the shadow men's MO (fundamentally changing a girl to suit their own needs...even if they serve a greater good). Buffy turns down the power, and in response the head...
Maybe, but not in regards to the shadow men (ie, first Watchers). I know women Watchers exist, my point was mainly in regards to the creation of the council and the Slayer.
I think that you make some good points regarding Buffy's power (see Buffy's comments to Kendra in What's My Line)...but I don't think that addresses why she turned down power from the shadow men. Will's comment is a little sharp, but not too far from the mark. A big theme of Season 7 (and as a...
Agreed, Robert. It's easier to watch the episodes in quick succession, but I'm sure it was killer taking months to get through those episodes. I watched season 7 for the first time when it was re-ran on FX last year.
Season 5 of Angel starts out slow for the first 7 episode or so, but really finishes with a bunch of great shows. Episodes 12-22 of the season are some of the best shows in the whole Buffy/Angel-verse.
We don't have to split hairs, here...I know what a plot hole is. In my post, I was refering to more general inconsistancies in the story (ie, first uber-vamp = damn near impossible to kill, hellmouth uber-vamps = easy enough for non-slayers to kill...etc). And I agree that SOME of the...
That seems like a bit of a cop-out. If they were small and insignificant, the fans wouldn't have a problem. Most of the plotholes don't bother me (slaughtering the uber-vamps in the Hellmouth comes to mind), but some of of them get on my nerves. The worst would have to be the Giles/decapitation...
It definitely seems rushed when they spend the middle ~10 episodes of the season with no real plot movement. The final 5 episodes are pretty solid, and the first 7 are great, but the middle really sags, IMO. I agree with you about Fillion though. One of the great villains. Too bad he didn't...
