Are you willing to be spoiled on the possible storyline, Simon? If so, try to find a synopsis of the Phoenix Saga. It's great stuff. Probably my favorite comic book arc of all time.

This is a weekend, Paul. I went to a showing of X2 on Wednesday and it was empty (I was literaly the only one there), but it was pretty full last night. Even with a ~60%+ drop, it'll still make some bank.

After watching X-Men with the Singer commentary, I'm with you on conveying emotion without use of one's eyes. I'm one of the few that hasn't really gotten on Marsden, but I feel even better about his performance considering the big honkin' visor plastered over his eyes.

I still don't have much of a problem with Marsden's Cyclops (aside from that crappy crying at the end). While I'm still not keen on Halle Berry as Storm, she annoyed me much less in this one.

    You mean X-Men 1.5, right :)

Also...the subtext in the film/comic is great. I can definitely see it as gay subtext, although it works for any sort of "not fitting in" scenario...especially racial injustice. Someone on the X-Men 1.5 DVD mentioned Singer taking the approach of Magneto being comparable to Malcolm X, with...

Joey, The idea of Jean Grey blocking Iceman makes sense, bit it still would have been possible for him to try something before she left the ship. That being said...I still think it's a matter of him not having completely developed skills.

Just got back froma second time...and I'm still blown away. I have one question though. I watched a lot of the cartoons back in the day, but never got around to reading the comics. Somebody point me to where I can read stuff. Are there collective books, or anything on the web? Anything...

Wow. ...just, wow. I'm back after my midnight showing, and wow. I was really amazed at how enjoyable it was. The whole film played like the third, action-packed, act of a normal film. I can now see what Jackman et al were talking about when they said since the characters were established...
