I am still watching but not with great enthusiasm. The cast isn't as interesting as the originals, and the internal relationships between them also not much to my liking. Ratings have never been super for this series but just good enough to earn a renewal for another season. CBS plans to move it...
One other thing that sets the original CSI apart in my mind: it was among the first shows I ever saw in high definition with my first (42-inch) Toshiba set. The production values were so outstanding for the show that I couldn't wait to watch it every week in glorious HD (and the stereo sound...
For me it comes down to the original cast: they were tremendous and irreplaceable with Petersen completely believable as a brainiac who could lead the team and also do field work and brandish a gun if needed. The new team is okay, but I cared about every one of those original people in the lab...
Same here. I'm adjusting to the new cast and basically like them, but Catherine's in-and-out appearances are kind of annoying. She doesn't really seem to be part of the team since she's heading her own investigation.

Yes, you get the best of both worlds: a serialized arc that takes the entire 10 episodes to resolve (where Gil and Sara spend most of their time)plus a case of the week that the new cast mostly works on.
I enjoyed the season finale episode even if they seemed to wrap it up very quickly after running into dead ends for most of the episode. For me, Gil and Sara made this season, and I would want them a part of the show going forward (though Billy Petersen may have no more interest in appearing on...
I'll watch the last episode some time today, and I'm eager to see the smug villains get their comeuppance. (At least, I hope they do.) No word yet on the series gaining a renewal. Time will tell, I suppose.
This week's episode was better than some of the earlier ones, but I agree that the Cross character is such a turn-off and frustrating for the viewer since we KNOW Gil and Sarah did nothing wrong and resent her threats and taunts. I LOVE Gil's cool under pressure scenes with this ghoul.
I still...
