Paul-
Check out http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htf/...d.php?t=233600 I started a thread on the subject almost exactly 1 year ago, may be of some help to you. As far as the MTT recordings are concerned, I believe we are only waiting on No. 8 to be released.
After a year or so of talking about finally upgrading from my JVC DVD player that only played DVD-A to a universal for SACD also, my new Pioneer player has arrived. I move into a new place on Saturday and will set it up then, just got the Derek and the Dominos 'Layla' SACD that I plan to test it...
Carlos V: Mille Regretz SACD picked it up at a used record shop for $10, I'm in New York all summer so I'm working on hitting all the record shops in the area and hoping to find some more decent prices hi-res. Then when I get home in mid-August hoping to upgrade some components and enjoy the new...
Bowie's 'Ziggy Stardust' SACD. I won't actually get to hear it for a bit though since my player is back at my apartment at school, and I'm home in Miami and in New York all summer, but got it for $9, a local Virgin Megastores is closing so entire store was 50% off. I picked this up and 3...
Paul: I actually wound up picking up the CD of the Runnicles/ASO Requiem the other day and it's a great piece. I completely had forgot about it coming to SACD or I would've picked it up for sure, guess when I eventually do upgrade my system (yeah, I'm still talking about getting a universal...
just picked up the Living Stereo SACD of Mahler's 4th. Unfortunately I still have yet to pick up a universal player (still just working with DVD-A), so until I do, I'll just enjoy the hybrid-ness of the disc.
damn, at least the SACD is obtainable, and at under $20, unfortunately I only have DVD-A capabilities, and the CD, only 1 used copy available for $65!? Looks I'll be hoping for someone to let one go on eBay for now, thanks, looks terrific, and btw Hermann's Vertigo score is my absolute favorite.
Paul - What's the title on that LA Philharmonic - Bernard Hermann title? I'm a huge fan of his works, actually just turned in a big research paper on him, didn't realize this existed, sounds awesome.
my 2 most recent purchases were the Buena Vista Social Club and Steely Dan 'Everything Must Go' DVD-Audios. Enjoy the music of both a lot, great work on the Steely, I feel the BVSC could've benefited from actual use of the center channel over a 4.1 IMO.
