Hi, Rob!
Good luck with your "projects." Let us know what you think of the set when you can. I'm hoping you'll discover there IS an English audio track! To quote an Andrews Sisters title: "I Can Dream, Can't I?"
Never Steal Anything Small: I once heard this musical described as if On the Waterfront and Guys & Dolls had a baby.
Jake Macllaney (Cagney) will do just about anything to win the presidential election of longshoreman union Local 26. When he encounters young upright attorney Dan Cabot (Smith)...

Also 77 Sunset Strip. One of them was the Christmas episode that Me-TV never seemed to air. If I recall correctly they put up 77 and HE, and sometime later on S6. I remeber watching that one later on (with Please Don't Eat the Daisies)!
Thanks Warner Archive, that is actually when I saw any...
When Russ revisited this episode Sept. 21, 2020 others posted some more items and tidbits about Bo Belinski and I bring this up as MLB's daily news website has an article about Bo Belinski, and his son, in it today.

She was in episodes of all the Warner detective series lasting more than one season! I was trying to think what I saw Merry Anders in recently as I remembered the name when I saw it in the credits. I finally looked it up on IMDB...she was a police woman in Dragnet.
Well...I paid for the opportunity, Russ...! Heh!

Yes! I loved that character and the actor who portrayed him. I looked him up just now, he's been a semi-regular for a few years on the Magnum, P.I., re-boot, but I have not watched that.

To keep this thread at least somewhat related to the topic: I saw Roger Smith's wife last night.
SIDEBAR: I came upon a Christmas episode of the series in Season 3 was it? And I liked it and watched it through the final episode. In 2020 I purchased the boxed set and watched it all again from the beginning. So I had quite a few new episodes to see then!
One thing I especially like about...
Did anyone know this, or has it been previously mentioned? In looking up a movie title I saw these notes written: "On a trip to Hawaii, James Cagney met Roger Smith, stationed there in the Naval Reserve, impressed with his clean-cut good looks and appeal, he encouraged Smith to pursue an acting...
My perfunctory search tells me that photo is of Karen Steele. Russ, sometimes, if you search for images, I've found that if there isn't a lot of them, meaning less well known, it will sometimes just use half the name you're searching (like Karen) or might even bring up other photos from a page...
I happened by the retro game show channel BUZZR last night and they were airing The Match Game/Hollywood Squares Hour and had some interesting "retro" guests:
Celebrity Guests: (number in parentheses is their age at the time, May, 1984.)
Edd Byrnes (51) (77 Sunset Strip)
Troy Donahue (48) (77...
😟 Hmmm...I remember it.
Who knows exactly why one remembers things, but I still remember one episode they think one of the new crew is an excellent boxer and train him to fight against another ship's top boxer. When it comes time for the match he's knocked out in the first punch. The captain...

I was about ten when this first aired and I watched it every week, every episode. I didn't know it was in color, LOL! I'll have to watch this. "About" ten? I just looked at the airdate for that episode above, that was my birthday! So I was eleven. Of course, I had no idea at the time of...

Wonder what happened?
The Fall 1960 schedule has the Bourbon Beat Street Monday night slot filled by Surfside-6 (whom one of the BBS regulars was in) and the proposed 9:30-10:30 Tuesday slot for BBS is filled by the second half of Stagecoach West and the 1/2 hour Alcoa Presents stayed put...

Thank you for that info. No sale for me, obviously, without that!
But since they're putting out a second and third volume, that sounds like the orders for the first one are doing well. That's a good thing. So near, and yet so far.
In German:
Are y'all piling up the Z's lately?
Someone posted about a German release (listed as Vol. 1) of the series coming out awhile back and I wondered if anyone knows any more about it? (I couldn't find that post again.) Specifically if it includes an English audio track? If episodes are intact and...
Does "Dan Raven" ring any bells with anyone?
This popped up on one of my searches for something to do with the Sunset Strip and it was something I never heard of before!
Apparently for a short time there was a Columbia Television series set on the Sunset Strip during the same period 77 Sunset...
Rob, glad to hear you're back to normal. Glad to hear something lately has been "miraculous" as you say!
Russ, Rob...I take BP meds, too. How does one have an over dosage? Asking as I want to avoid that, obviously!!!
A few months ago I posted a b&w photo of the 77 Sunset Strip club on Sunset Blvd. & Hilldale from the mid-70's. Someone recently posted a 1975 color photo of it on Reddit:
Did anyone else get this new Stage Door Records release: Christmas in Hollywood? I did, but I haven't listened to it yet. I have read the enclosed booklet. The back cover of the booklet has this original album cover of the Warner Bros. album:
So, if one is so inclined, you can put the booklet...
