Anone got a review on "My Name is Earl" yet? Music Intact?

Well, I just finished watching every episode of the DVD set and I have to admit that I didn't even notice one missing song....and that's after knowing exactly what was replaced. The only thing I kind of noticed was "Cherry Pie" was missing, but that's only because of the mention of it here...

That's it. I actually have that episode sitting on my ReplayTV at home, so I'll have to do a comparison with the DVD sometime.

Yeah, it always seems like there is no middle ground, either people want nothing changed at all, or the ones (who don't mind changes) don't care about the music at all. I think there is a middle ground. I hope that when I get around to watching the DVD's, the replacement isn't too jaring...

Brent, I'm not trying to fight, but I wanted to interject something about music. I work in a video production house and we change music all the time, to try and figure out what works best for a particular video. The problem with music is, the client always assumes that the first piece of...

It was the episode where Bart worked for the Mob (Fat Tony). There was a music montage where it showed him working at their hideout. Apparently they couldn't get the rights to the song that was originally used (I forget the name of the song or the song that replaced it).

Yeah, and while it does bug me that the songs are changed, the show is brand new and I've only seen the episodes once - so it's not like changes to Star Wars where the original has been burned into my memory for the past 30 years (to the point where any change seems awkward). The songs may be...

I love this show WAY too much to let this bother me.

Although it sounds like it is saying that there are music replacements, it seem a bit cryptic to be 100%...It almost sounds like it's saying that they chose music that they knew they'd be able to license for DVD, but again, the blog entry doesn't exactly say one way or the other.

Anone got a review on "My Name is Earl" yet? Music Intact?

Why is it pitiful? I said this before...I would HATE to think that a studio would chose music solely based on what they know they can use on the DVD release. Talk about artistic stifling!!! DVD is not the main concern here - Keeping the show running is! I'd rather see the studio produce a...

Anone got a review on "My Name is Earl" yet? Music Intact?

But that's a double edged sword - If you think about that, it actually would make sense that there would be MORE music replacement. The CD industry isn't doing well, so where are the music studios going to make the money? By charging TV studios for using their songs. They know that DVD is "big...

Anone got a review on "My Name is Earl" yet? Music Intact?

Oh man! I pre-ordered from Amazon before checking in on this! Oh well, I guess the only saving grace would be the fact that I haven't watched the repeats enough to know where all of the music replacements were. Unlike the Simpsons that I've seen SO many times that I know it like the back of...
