I can not believe a film by David Lean, a man whose images were more carefully composed than any other film maker in his time, is being released with the compositions shot to hell.

It is doubtful that the existing full frame master exhibits the entire image as captured on the negative, so all of this cropping of that master into random ratios is pointless.

Wow. Major mistake. Academy ratio died in 1953. It amazes me this is still a struggle for people to understand, especially those in the industry.
