It might still be worthwhile getting 4K discs even if your current setup can't make much use of them. I find 4K players -- even a sub-$200 one like my Sony X700 -- can downconvert 4K discs to yield potentially greater PQ than corresponding BDs, eg. I can see a slight bump in the downconverted...
