USHE Press Release: Back To The Future Trilogy (4k UHD)

Regardless, it wasn't a cliffhanger -- you might personally feel that way, but AFAIK, that's not the general understanding what a cliffhanger would be. It's not like they left Luke still hanging and being hunted somewhere inside Cloud City w/ his safety still unknown or the like afterall for...

USHE Press Release: Back To The Future Trilogy (4k UHD)

Not sure about you guys, but I suspect at least some of us mind partly because we've (seen and) been redipping on these so many times already after each new format release, LOL... _Man_

But that's why he qualified that "at launch anymore"... ;):D ... although the BTTF 4K set was actually briefly even cheaper(!) than $25 direct from Universal's online store (on eBay) during preorder period, IIRC... I missed the boat on that deal, but still ended up getting it for under $30 off...

What? No mylar??? :3dglasses::P Never considered such for movie cases, but maybe I should... not for the steelbooks I don't buy, but maybe for the handful digibook types. Wonder how they'd look on shelves though -- don't imagine so good... and I'm probably not about to stick them in my...

USHE Press Release: Back To The Future Trilogy (4k UHD)

That’s it! Guess I shouldn’t let you come close to my stash of slip covers, if we all make it out of this pandemic alive and well and I invite you over some day... _Man_

USHE Press Release: Back To The Future Trilogy (4k UHD)

Admittedly, it's probably largely a "collector's mindset" kinda thing, but I'm sure not everyone is quite that way w/ such. I suppose some might also be more or less the opposite and prefer a kind of minimalism that might feel more freeing and such... And some of us are one way w/ somethings...

USHE Press Release: Back To The Future Trilogy (4k UHD)

Yeah, that's an unfortunate, inconvenient side-effect of BB's process that's designed for low-pay-grade clerks to follow successfully (much like a script on most big companies' phone support). It is what it is. RE: the steelbook damage, that sorta thing is largely why I almost never go for...

USHE Press Release: Back To The Future Trilogy (4k UHD)

Hmmm... he puts out some apparently very useful video reviews wrt HDR (and WCG) usage (or lack thereof)... Definitely makes me wonder if I shouldn't have bothered upgrading to the 4K disc for Blade Runner 2049 for instance. _Man_

USHE Press Release: Back To The Future Trilogy (4k UHD)

Are you sure they were upgraded to HD? It's possible they weren't upgraded at all from SD -- I have some like that, but not the BTTF trilogy, which I do have upgraded to HD. Does it actually look HD when you try to play them? IF you go ahead and download, are they actually HD (as that might...

USHE Press Release: Back To The Future Trilogy (4k UHD)

I haven't actually seen the release (yet), but are you sure it's not generally darker throughout? It's been quite common for 4K HDR releases to have a darker look in general (and often enough much darker), especially if your display/setup is designed, optimized or calibrated primarily/largely...

USHE Press Release: Back To The Future Trilogy (4k UHD)

Wish there were more detail to be gained though. IF those caps are accurate and representative, then there's really not much of any detail gain for most of the movie. OTOH, the reduction of EE (and DNR) and contrast boosting might be enough to justify an upgrade. Maybe this is a case best...

USHE Press Release: Back To The Future Trilogy (4k UHD)

Those steelbooks do look very cool... though can't imagine myself using all the shelf space to display them to full effect. I suppose one could just do that as a limited time thing for whenever one's in the mood for a BttF marathon or something... _Man_

USHE Press Release: Back To The Future Trilogy (4k UHD)

I recall it was thought to be a bit too filtered/denoised by some... as usually happened w/ films of that era, especially from Universal back then in the earlier days of BD (nearly 10 years ago). But truth is these flicks, especially the first one, just won't look very sharp (at least by...

USHE Press Release: Back To The Future Trilogy (4k UHD)

Hmmm... just checked. MoviesAnywhere indicate I did it thru iTunes, but as SD digital (like a lot of old iTunes redemptions) according to the transaction history. But the detailed movie's page indicates the "purchase" as iTunes HD nonetheless -- and yeah, they show as HD on both iTunes and...

USHE Press Release: Back To The Future Trilogy (4k UHD)

Really wonder how the PQ will turn out on these... given all the handwringing of previous releases (first on DVD, then BD). I'd love to get them if they do turn out excellent, but I'm not holding my breath... Might turn out to be more of a worthy 4K digital stream purchase (at good discount)...
