    Two 5-day work weeks. Many positions don't even get two weeks the first year. Most accrue a certain amount of hours per pay-period, so when you first start you have zero vacation. Then after 6 months of continuous work, you would have 5 days; after 12 months, 10 days.

    This is probably the best advice I've seen in this thread. The only time it's ever "too late" for anything is when you're DEAD. At only 30, you have most of your working life ahead of you. You have plenty of time to make one, or more, changes. My 62-year-old uncle just went back to work...
