Pretty standard practice as far as I know. The certificates have no cash value, so if your purchase was $15 and you handed over $20 in certs, then you'd forfeit the extra $5 since they're not going to give you cash back. That's the whole point of the program, to get you back in the store...
Same here. I'm trying not to get too hyped over this since I didn't have to pay anything to join this time, but I doubt I'll renew if this is how they run the program. Supposedly my first $5 cert was processed on August 20. Haven't seen it yet. :frowning:
As noted above, they apparently aren't converting points to certificates until 30 days have passed since your qualifying 12,500th point. This solves my query of a few days ago. I've earned lots of points recently but most are only 2-3 weeks old so I still have a couple weeks to wait until...
I think the delay is that they're only issuing coupons once a month. I've earned enough points for 3 certificates, but my on-line account says they've only mailed one certificate back on 8/20.
For all the bitching I've done about this program, I think I've already qualified for four discount certificates. I guess the only bad thing about this program is that it will make plain how much of the ol' paycheck goes to Best Buy each week. :D
According to Best Buy, these are the exclusions: Currently Reward Zone points are not added to your account for the following: tax, Performance Service Plans, Product Replacent Plans, restocking fees, gift cards, delivery, exchanges, online purchases, open boxed item, shipping costs, and repair.
"earn points on nearly every purchase" "points on everything except certain products and services" Has anyone figured out what, specifically, the exclusions are? I've looked over all the info they sent me and I can't seem to find anywhere that clearly spells out what items/services are...
