I agree with Brian on this. I've A/B'd songs from the new CD release against a number of different sources and the general impression is that on a number of songs, specially the first third of the CD, vocals and instrumentation were given the same weight. Double-tracking was spread but backing...
Restoration of The Beatles 1 Video Collection: Part 5/5 – This last piece of the restoration clips concentrates on the filming of “Hey Bulldog”, shot on 11 Feb 1968 at Abbey Road. Composed of unused footage filmed 30 years ago, this is one of my favorites.

Finally in HTML5 and in much better quality (for video tape):
We Can Work It Out – Shot on two-inch black-and-white videotape on Nov. 23, 1965 at the Twickenham Film Studios in Middlesex. A black-and-white video version of the song appears on the “1” video disc, while another with the group...
I too bit the bullet and ordered the $50.98 package from Amazon. I have no intentions of letting it sit idle once it's delivered. I'm going to let it breathe.
On another note TheBeatle1 YouTube channel has added another 1 minute teaser to its collection.
"The Long And Winding Road" similar to...

The Beatles "1+" Packs Visual, Sonic and Emotional Punch
Being a newbie to the forum, there's probably something I'm doing wrong in formatting the URL:

The vinyl LP version is now set for release on December 4, 2015.
For those interested in someone's thoughts after an evening of "binge-watching" the two Blue-ray discs, Michael Fremer (analogplanet.com) writes a "read-worthy" article (I think)...
There are two new YouTube clips from TheBeatles channel and another full video to enjoy.
Strawberry Fields Forever Preview 2
This clip runs about a minute.
Restoration of The Beatles 1 Video Collection: Part 4/5
Running 3:19 minutes, It focuses on “Lady Madonna”, and Giles Martin...
Brian,
I'm watching on a 27" screen and listening with headphones and I too hear a roominess to the sound of some of the clips.
Your comment on "From Me To You" made me dig out my Beatles Anthology DVDs and do a comparison of the song's videos from the two sources.
There are only about 13...
The third restored (full) video, "A Day In The Life" was released on YouTube.
This, of course, is the one filmed in Abbey Road Studios in February 1967 with all the classically trained musicians sporting funny hats, noses and party favors along with their classical attire.
Studio guests...

I agree with your point on the audio portion of the "Revolution" video.
I listened thru headphones and the beginning was "jarring" (the way John Lennon wanted it to be). I too thought the instrumentation was a little heavier than the vocals but I enjoyed it overall and the video...
For those interested, a more thorough description of the history of the video and accompanying audio is available here:

The cleaned up video of "Revolution" is available for viewing on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGLGzRXY5Bw) today.
It's a great example of the amount of work done to make the video collection worthy of the asking price.
And, Yes it is in monaural as John would have liked it.
I also like the Love release.
Here are two interesting items from an article presented today on latimes.com:
From Jonathan Clyde, Producer of Beatles 1 and 1+:
"…of the 50 selections in the deluxe edition of the “1+” release, only 10 were featured in full in “Anthology,” 18 were sampled in...
Maybe Jeff Lynne was only involved with producing the 2 channel version of the audio for the Blu-ray just like he was on the release for the two songs on the Beatles Anthology DVD.
Peter Cobbin (Abbey Road Senior Recording Engineer) was involved in the 5.1 Surround mixes for that project. He...

Thanks for the nice Welcome Nelson and Mike.
Regarding Nelson's question:
The songs used for the 2011 release of the “1” album were remasterd by the team Guy Massey, Steve Rooke, Paul Hicks, Sean Magee and Sam Okell. This release included the same remasters used for “The Beatles”(“The...
