Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Thanks Simon! Well that's the big problem for me, I felt more revulsion than pity for Anakin. I don't blame the actors, the source is the writing. The character is poorly developed. Frankenstein evoked much more pity. Ah, much better!:)

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Hey I didn't come here for a beating! I came here for an argument!:D The sad thing about that Vader Noooooo! scene is that George had the seeds of a great scene there. If he had just stuck with Vader Force pounding the crap out of the room he was in and Force throwing items around, that...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Didn't Vader do a Frankenstein lurch while uttering it?

The only way I can tolerate the sequels is via the bonus disc that came with the ROTS soundtrack. John Williams work is the single bridge the links the two trilogies and the only thing worth revisiting for me.

Especially if the policy is dropped the next year.

Interesting Terry. I think its a poor decision too - a la Shore's snub for The Two Towers soundtrack. It would be nice if they announced these decision criteria publicly before implementing them.

I take it you are enjoying it.;) I have not kept up to their product line since I got my 20-39. It is everything in a sub I wanted and more.

That conjecture was for the ROTS snub. This remark was directed at TPM and AOTC.

TPM had the newness factor and AOTC had the busiest VFX of the three.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Wow, that VFX snub is puzzling indeed. Not having seen all the nominees I can only conjecture that the Academy felt the VFX from the other movies made a greater impact on their stories. Tim - I am curious why you went with a cube over a tube for your sub?

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Curious - any particular reason why you went with a cube instead of a tube?

Congrats Tim. I have had the 20-39PC for a couple of years now. SVS puts out awesome product. TIE:D down your collectibles!

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Since all the Jedi were shown to be bumblers the whole 66 thing came off as emotionally manipulative so ranking their deaths is pointless.

Another example: Anakin, a Jedi in training, slaughters a village including the women and children. This is a terribe thing. You should be against the Jedi - or anyone with force abilities - for this. :D

McDirmand maybe. Ewan was solid with occasional flashes. Hayden pretty erratic. Portman - very erratic. Compare that to Bale, Caine, Neesom, Wilson, Murphy, Freeman, Hauer - no contest.

My herd has a little more colour to it: :D 1) TPM is an off-black 2) AOTC is absolute midnight black 3) ROTS is an off-grey.

Which shows how little he knows about what the fans really wanted to see. The third movie is going to show the birth of Vader and make the smallest bank? OK and over here we have some prime Florida swampland for sale....

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

..or others like myself that have decided to move on. My review spells it out and I do not want to go into circular arguments that end up with all of us expending a lot of energy for no purpose. Suffice it to say that the PT left me underwhelmed. There are snatches of powerful storytelling...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Good to see that ROTS has provided the finale most of you were hoping for.:emoji_thumbsup: For myself, a line from the Locus web site review sums it up best for me - It entertained me, it did not move me. This weekend should tell if ROTS will surpass TPM at the BO. I still think it will...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

I agree Pete. The ultimate viewing order for SWs movie will be 4, 5, 3, & 6. 1 & 2 are History. The other two brought no positive emotional content to part 3 for me - only negative and frustrated ones. Thankfully and finally, ROTS has some emotional content. With that and the 25 years of...
