Ah, I see you weren't able to pick up the recent TOS season 1-3 combined box set which they were selling for the insane price of less than $85 a while back!
The Original series Blu-rays are one of my prized possessions and I never go a week without watching at least one episode.
Hi-def digest...
Could we turn this thread back to the subject of the Trek movie Blu-rays and not take this moronic debate between haters and lovers any further?
A guy asks a simple question and some nuts decide to prepare a document on why the movie is bad?
That's some petty obsessive non-sense to be pulling...
I love both the old and new movies, but on the subject of the Blu-rays.............
Has it been established that no version, in any country contains deleted scenes?
And is it known if any substantial deleted scenes exist for STID.
There was the Harrison shower scene and a brief scene where...
The two movies are from the same universe that diverged 25 or so years before the events of Star trek Into Darkness---so no there is no sort of continuation.
The whole point of diverging the Trek universe at that particular point in the first movie was so they could show the familiar characters...
Well today the original set hit it's lowest price ever at Amazon $29.99.
And once again I hope that signals that perhaps they are clearing inventory for a future upgraded release.
Sorry, I wasn't more clear, in the last 1 or 2 years during an interview Shatner was asked about revisiting Trek 5 and that was when he blew off the idea. So it wasn't Paramount that asked him. He sounded like he was still bitter about the 2002 pitch he made to them. If they formally asked him...
Shatner asked Paramount if he could do a Directer's cut of Trek 5 in 2002 with a modest budget for new FX---they said no. He then asked for a TINY budget to simply recut the movie---they said no.
He was asked in the last 1 or 2 years if he would be interested in doing a Director's cut and he...
It's absurd this movie is being talked about as some kind of flop. 12 days in--it is just slightly ahead of the 2009 release. It is way ahead of the previous one in the international box office and it still hasn't opened in several large markets including China, France, Korea and Italy. This...
Wow, now the box set is $33 from Amazon. If they choose never to release the extended versions in a set it seems they will have to repress the older set again. I mean how many of the sets from 2009 can still be floating around with bargin prices like this for weeks on end?
6 weeks later and it's on sale again for $36. I don't know if we'll ever get a more complete release but they pretty well won't have too much old stock on hand.
