Patrick—I did not think that the Mercedes was nearly as sporty as the TL (the BMW 3-series probably is)—plus it cost more. I guess that I’d consider it closer to the ES300, but I thought that the workmanship was a bit better on the Lexus.

Patrick I posted early on in the thread and your wife won’t be disappointed with either the Lexus or Acura. We chose the TL and absolutely love it, but either would be a fine choice.

I own an Acura TL, which I chose over a Lexus, BMW 3-series, and the Mercedes C series, which were on my short list. I have also driven the Cadillac CTS, another fine car. For me, the Acura came closer to a performance sedan with the fine car features that were important to me (leather, etc.)...
