Thanks, Tim! Whether the HK subplot was extraneous or not, I did think it was a very cool scene. I think it was very Bondian, which is a big influence on Nolan. Joker's "knife in the shoe" routine was definitely inspired by Rosa Klebb in FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE.
