I just hope Shout learns from this thread and includes both cuts of Dances With Wolves in 4k if/when they update their release of that title to UHD.

I confess ignorance to the cost of packaging, licensing, and replication costs, but the packaging here was overly elaborate IMO. It left me to wonder whether the Theatrical Cut could have been included in UHD if Shout had elected to save money on the packaging and used a standard 5-disc plastic...

I decided to watch the Theatrical Cut over the weekend, as I had only seen the Director's Cut in the past. The Blu-Ray looks excellent, and I may actually prefer the theatrical cut to the director's cut. It's not missing anything essential, and the film is even more frenetic in shorter form...
