I'd be content with just an HD presentation of a 35mm print, even with dust and scratches! I'm so desperate for this film, hehe. I don't need a full blown restoration. Just give me grain in HD and good color correction, and I'm OK.

So, I haven't understood something: The HD version is an upscale? If it's a real HD version why don't they put it on a bluray and say that they used the best film elements they could find? I'd bet we have blurays with worse picture, don't we?

If this looks good why doesn't Warner scan this then? and include a disclaimer or something, that this release is compiled from the best available elements. They could just release at least an official DVD if they don't want bluray.

Next TCM airing is on June 6.

I think that TCM broadcast, was very much suitable for DVD standards. There are WAC DVDs that look much worse. So, I can't find any excuse for the absence of even an official DVD release.

Who knows.. After all there are dozens of other Warner films that are even more famous (and I believe they would be more profitable - Errol Flynn classics anyone?) than Raintree County and haven't been released yet.
