Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)

I'm ordering mine from disneystore.com. You get the "Logo on Starfield" art (which I agree is the best) PLUS some really cool 14x10 lithos (including "Chewie...we're home.") http://www.disneystore.com/entertainment-star-wars-the-force-awakens-blu-ray-combo-pack-pre-order/mp/1397199/1000205/

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)

Wow! It is fun to get to see it with a larger crowd, especially this many days after release. I took my kids to the IMAX two weeks ago (their 3rd time) on a Saturday evening at 7:00 pm and it was almost half full. What made it great was that apparently a ton of people had finally decided it...

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)

Decided to catch one last TFA showing (9th overall) at the Great Clips IMAX in Minnesota last night so after my ex picked up the kids I headed out for the 10:00 pm showing. I was the ONLY person in the auditorium. But it's not like I went to a multiplex and there were people seeing other movies...

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)

I just saw it for the 8th time this weekend which makes it the movie I've watched at the theater the most. Previously the original Star Wars, Terminator 2, and The Fellowship of the Ring were all tied at 7 viewings each.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)

Wonderfully said and I totally agree. I also like the little look of pride he gives her as she is flying the Falcon over the ocean at the end on their way to Luke's island.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)

Well there are theories that he's pretty much everybody but I actually do like the idea of him being small considering the first time you see him (and before it's revealed that he's a hologram) he looks like a giant.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)

I just read a theory that Snoke is Yoda sized and intimidates people with the giant hologram. I think that'd be pretty cool! A little "Wizard of Oz" but hey, "borrowing with style" has kind of always been Star Wars' thing. I just hope he's huge or tiny. I feel like it'll be a bit of a...

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)

Well that was really lame of him to say. Abrams wouldn't allow any of his actors to say if they'd appear in Episode 8 because he didn't want to spoil who lived and who died. I guess Luke and Leia will be surviving Episode 8 so there won't be any tension regarding their fates. I bet Rian...

Now that's someone who's asking to get his car royally keyed.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)

Good thinking. Like "No, I am your father" in ESB and then "Your father he is" in ROTJ.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)

I think it'd be cool if there are no more "fleets" for Episode VIII and IX. I'm wondering if the "Republic Fleet" that you see incinerated in orbit around the capital planet that was destroyed contained all of the Resistance' cruisers. I think it'd be neat if from here on out it was just...

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)

It just occurred to me that the three characters who take part in the Starkiller forest lightsaber duel are all introduced wearing masks that cover their faces. Pretty cool. And I did go out and purchase the soundtrack (first orchestral soundtrack I've purchased since Crimson Tide) and I must...

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)

I don't have the soundtrack but I do recall being really pumped by the music as the X-Wings came charging across the lake to save the day.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)

Any Miyazaki fans? Rey seemed very "Nausicaa" in her first few scenes. The outfit with goggles and her scavenging a large behemoth before skimming over the wastes.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)

I'm not "debating" it, I'm just having fun with the movie and wondering what things we "think" we already know that could technically be used to surprise us with a twist later on. I was 100% certain (I mean there wasn't even a question in my mind) that Rey was Han and Leia's kid based on the...

I thought it was just Stormtroopers behind him. Guess I need to watch it again, lol.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)

I got the impression that Leia and Han knew full well that Ben was Kylo but I didn't see it spelled out that Ben and the apprentice who turned on Luke were one in the same. As I said odds are the apprentice was indeed Kylo but I found it interesting that he wasn't specifically named as such...

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)

I couldn't help but wonder if the "apprentice who turned on Luke and destroyed everything" might be someone other than Kylo. Probably not, but because Han didn't name names for all we know another one of Luke's disciples went bad and took Kylo with him/her.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)

Sure! I'm just blown away by this movie. It really is right below The Empire Strikes Back for me. It has quiet moments, funny moments, sad moments, incredibly exciting moments. Just like SW used to be.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)

I agree. Another one: Rey quietly watching the 60 year old woman on Jakku silently wondering if that will be her own fate, to be old and alone on such a desolate planet.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)

I thought it was interesting how when Rey said "I didn't know there was this much green in the galaxy" Han didn't say "well sure, you grew up on a desert planet" but rather gave her a sad look of "that's not right." I was very intrigued by Chewie's quiet look of pride at Rey as she fired up...

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)

Not that ROTJ was bad or anything but I remember being mesmerized by every single creature in ANH, and then all over again in ESB. I thought it was neat that TFA got back to that.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)

That's why I said "all new aliens from beginning to end." In ESB *only* Chewbacca was recycled from ANH, every single other alien was brand new: Bossk, Yoda, Ugnaughts, Space Slug, etc. In ROTJ and all the PT we got new aliens yes but lots of recycled ones. And that's okay but I thought it...

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)

I loved, loved, loved this movie. Have seen it twice so far. Some random musings after decompressing a few days: 1. As an old school Robotech fan I loved the similarity between Poe Dameron and Max Sterling, the Starkiller weapon with the Grand Cannon, and Supreme Leader Snoke with Dolza...
