I also say stay with 5.1. With your couch up against the back wall, there just isn't a good way to place the 2 rear speakers. A good 5.1 setup will beat a mediocre 7.1 every time I think. :) You could always try out 7.1 and compare vs 5.1, but I just don't believe you're going hear much if...
