At the risk of de-railing this thread (sorry) have you guys seen the video to this new PSB single? - very bold for pop song marketing....

Yes, a real thought-provoking piece that is exceptionally well played by all four of the cast.... Pet Shop Boys have just been talking about the film on BBC Radio 2 and have premiered their new single 'Loneliness' - how appropriate!

Just finished watching 'Fellow Travelers'... I agree! The American History Lesson perhaps was not as familiar to me as some, but the relationships worked through in these 8 episodes (with moving time frames) gave it real impact. It made me reflect on some of the relationship decisions I've...

The use of 'Murder on the Dancefloor' in the film has sent this track back into the UK top 10! Now described as the 'Kate Bush effect' after 'Running up that hill' was re-released following its use on 'Stranger things'

Just watched ‘Nuovo Olimpo’ on Netflix. Connections, longing and truth handled with affection. It also has an excellent (and appropriate) final scene, so hang in there! Thoroughly recommended.👍

£14.99 on Amazon... I bought the standard edition as Christmas presents last year for two of my gay friends (in two long term relationships) and they all hated it! There's no accounting for taste, but it's sort of put me off wanting to re-visit it...

Mark, an excellent summary above (again - it encouraged me to order this film). The commentary also includes the main actor, Josh Lavery, and is more to do with the mechanics of film making than the plot, but it is still worthwhile. There's some fun with the explanation of a 'jizz canon' and...

So I emailed Patrick Gale (author of MIAOS) who very kindly told me it is a cottage on the Cowdray estate, West Sussex ... (in signature custard yellow paint..)

Just caught up with this and I enjoyed it - good sense of period and an amazing cast for both time sequences. Well, one thing we have seen before is the 'honeymoon cottage' - it was the same location cottage used in 'Man in an orange shirt'. I spotted it straight away and have checked my photo...

We don't get these over here (unless they're on some streaming service I don't have). I remember some pre-release excitement (including mine) over last year's 'Single all the way' which I thought was pretty awful fluff. I want to be challenged and entertained a bit more than this. Life's too...

I don't think it has any extras - but I have just ordered the Blu direct from Verve Pictures (for those of you Region B capable - https://vivaverve.com) Even knowing how the story turns out, there are many entertaining secondary characters that will make it a rewarding re-watch to note how their...

PN Furbank's biography of Forster is 'the bible', Wendy Moffat's has the sex but this Guardian article is another good summation of the triangle that inspired the novel (and film): https://www.theguardian.com/books/2012/feb/17/e-m-forster-my-policeman

Bujaki wrote: #3121 'For more on Sassoon, read the Booker Prize winner, Regeneration, also made into a fine film.' I think I'd have to agree that 'Regeneration' was a better story and film. 'Benediction' just dropped on Netflix for those of us here in the UK. It certainly does have an amazing...

I didn't want to say too much earlier, but I'm glad you both enjoyed it.. No sex (as Will's friend spotted - not that British then ;) ), I agree it has a great cast and I also loved the sister. Saint Olivia can do no wrong and I've had to buy the Chvrches album just so I can dance around the...

It's falls just the right side of sweet and saccharine - plenty of teenage angst and emotion - with great performances.:) Ep 3 has the most amazing and euphoric use of 'Clearest Blue' by Chvrches - love it!

'This is going to hurt' - a real love letter to the NHS from a former senior doctor. It's excellent! I read the books last week too, and whilst all the best jokes are there, the TV series brings some real drama to what in the books are episodic 'diary' pieces. Harry, the boyfriend, is more...
