Conan the Barbarian was my third soundtrack on CD after I got into the format, after SW and ESB. Too bad the Seven Samurai homage theme wasn't on it. ;) It's such an amazing score. It's both beautiful and brutal. I love a lot of Poledouris's work, from Robocop to Hunt for Red October. I read...
I just wish they would release these Star Wars scores right the first time and make them complete! I love so much of the music that's in the movie but not on the soundtrack, which I listen to quite frequently.
I understand the confusion but since I knew that Lucas's son was the actor who played the Jedi, I knew what you were talking about. Your wording was confusing, basically.
Yeah, I would say Sidious had the upper hand although the battle was really more of a draw because it was not finished. Usually, lightsaber battles end up with someone dead or dismembered. Both parties walked away *relatively* unscathed. Yoda holding back? Nah.
Does anyone have really high res pics of some stills? Some particular shots I am looking for are of the Emperor and Vader side by side at the end of ROTS and the very last shot from ROTS of Owen and Beru holding baby Luke while staring at the twin sunset (or sunrise). Thanks.
Let's see...hands cut off, force-electrocuted, and flung out a building window. How in the world could he have survived? Palpatine was killed in nearly the same fashion minus dismemberment but I don't seem to recall any doubts as to his death.
Really. Wow. Now I don't know how much of the DVD sound issues are HIS fault, but he was up there as being one of the important craftsmen behind the SW films. Like Williams, Muren, McQuarrie, etc., he was an integral part of the film's success.
Even though ROTS is 4th best movie for me (after ESB, ANH, and ROTJ), it has the 2nd best ending of the trilogy. I can't get that final sequence out of my head. Everything about it, even thinking about it now, gives me CHILLS. When Obi-Wan hands Beru the baby, strokes his beard, and steps away...
Does anyone have the Art of and/or the Making of books? I am thinking of picking them up today. First Star Wars books in a long time. How are they? I want lots of pictures : )
Humm. Dunno about that. I think one of the many problems of the prequels is that Lucas didn't utilize his time properly. He doesn't tell enough of the big story in the first two, instead filling it with near meaningless self-contained and self-serving action sequences that really have no bearing...
It's interesting to think of even more parallels. As Yoda said, attachment is dangerous. Anakin turned to the darkside to save Padme and Luke ALMOST turned to save Leia. Dreams were instrumental as they drove the characters to do crazy irrational things that were on the path to the darkside...
So if this dream-planting is legit, then perhaps the Emperor or even Vader could have been planting the daydreams Luke had when he was on Dagobah where he saw his friends suffering. It was a trap to lure Luke to Bespin so he could have been turned to the darkside. I don't actually believe...
Well, what should Obi-Wan have done? Killed his friend? Yes, that may have had a tremendous impact on the future (uh, no *mays" about it..lol) but then it would have probably changed Obi-Wan. I think it was like giving Anakin a chance or letting fate decide (as Anakin mentioned earlier... "His...
I am hoping for an expanded score to come out and soon. Has anyone heard anything about this or even one for AOTC? That Imperial Theme variation when Anakin gets "Vadered" is awesome and a tragedy that it wasn't included on the very stripped down CD release.
Nope. Not necessarily. It's understandable that a father would want his son to have something that belonged to him. There really is no way to know whether it is true or not.
Sorry for the double post if it turns out to be one. I have to post around my constantly dropping internet connection as my provider has been screwing me around and blaming everything but their end. They won't be able to come out until Monday, if even that. This is so frustrating as I want to...
I disagree. Actually, it can all be considered part of the whole "certain point of view" thing that Obi-Wan comments on. Anakin DID die, and I don't recall Ben actually 'owning' the droids as he said. So no, Ben never really lied.
I'd like to add that my favorite scene was the extreme close-up of the 'hood' being put on followed by a silence and then that familiar breathing. Masterful scene. And I still don't buy into the immaculate conception thing. I think Shmi was out late at the Mos Eisley cantina, had a little...
My internet has been down since Tuesday so I don't know what's going on in this thread. I tried going through it but 12 pages is a lot to sift through. I saw the movie Tuesday night at 12 for free and I really, really loved it. There were bad moments like too much droid humor but all in all, a...
