The isolated score has been part of the digital release since it originally came out for home viewing; what’s new is that it’s now on the disc in the box set, where prior to that it was a digital only bonus.
It’s the same master in the sense that all of these films are completed digitally and then that same master is just repurposed for whatever the different places its needed for.
But the TLJ discs in the box set are different from the original release, and while the standalone version with the...
Three days on plastic, from what I’ve read in several publications.
There are no documented cases of transmission from inanimate surface to person but I share your abundance of caution.
That is correct! I have to admit it’s not absolutely flawless but I think it’s the most ambitious and for me is the most satisfying of the bunch.
I was thinking of doing a mini marathon of trilogy enders soon - Sith, Jedi and Skywalker.
We might have been close. I had just finished college, was still working at Blockbuster, and that summer moved from one apartment close to the first run theater to an apartment close to the second run theater right as the movie moved along that same path. And I also had a copy of that leaked...
The most by far for me, which is quite an achievement considering how often I watched Jedi as a kid. Don’t worry, I’ve seen it enough for you, me and probably half the western world.
(Nerd hat on.) It’s actually not - the BD is the correct version. When they did the DVD, a wipe that was present in the theatrical version was (accidentally?) changed to a cut. The BD restores the wipe as present in theatrical release.
...not that I’ve watched the movie too many times or...
It has a fancier “book” design that appears to be similar to the original James Bond collection or Mel Brooks collection pressings from Fox, and includes a reproduction of a letter written by Mark Hamill to the fans. In others words, it’s kind of a “box o’ junk” edition. Disc content remains the...
The U.K. version of the set contains the exact same content and package design, is region free, and is about half the price. If you really want it on physical media in UHD, that’s probably the best bang for your buck.
I could be wrong but those extras sound like the digital-only bonus features that Disney put out with the first six films for their digital retail premieres several years ago.

I think both AOTC and ROTS benefitted from being exhibited primarily in 35mm during their original releases. The release prints added some texture back into the image and may have worked better than the discs which are taken from the digital files. It’s been estimated that a 35mm release print...
The 4K mastered versions of those titles are on Disney+ currently so you can see now. They look essentially the same as the Blu-rays, though some of the new color timings (presumably the Dolby Vision addition) make the blue screen work seem a little more obvious to me than it did in any prior...
I’ll need to wait to see what the bonus material is before making a decision. I’ve already got the 2011 box set with the first six films, and the 3D editions of all the Disney-era films (with the 3D on preorder for TROS). I don’t have a 4K disc player and I have no immediate plans to upgrade my...
