    The Searchers (1956)

Which film are you referring to regarding the bonus material?
  2. Johnny Angell

    The Searchers (1956)

John Wayne, the star, is not in The Searchers. Instead we get a fully formed character portrayed by an actor giving, IMO, his finest performance.

    The Searchers (1956)

I found the following quotes from IMDB interesting: I like to think this is true. Would they really have stopped production. More likely they worked around her absence. I included this not to bring in politics, but to illustrate the power of an artistic performance. While I don't agree with...

    The Searchers (1956)

Well, it doesn't strike me that way. No other woman in the film looks that good and she's living a hard life. Maybe some audience members get it, but I don't.

Is that the movie with George C. Scott? Yeah, he's searching for his daughter but a remake of The Searchers? Perhaps your tongue was slightly in cheek.

    The Searchers (1956)

Let us know what you think of it. It briefly starts with content about the movie but quickly switches to a history of the old west. Early in the film we see meaningful glances exchanged between Ethan and his brother's wife.

    The Searchers (1956)

    The Searchers (1956)

I'm not certain when I first saw it. I think it's likely that I first appreciated it for the great movie it is, when I was a young adult. BTW, I don't criticize the movie for it's happy ending, just the hollywood indian. And I consider it a small flaw. Edit: I do recognize that seeing a...

    The Searchers (1956)

Just another good example of different strokes for different folks. I certainly won't criticize you for your position. It's a great movie and perhaps John Wayne's best performance.

    The Searchers (1956)

I love this movie but it has a moment when I'm taken out of the movie. That is when Natalie Wood first appears as (not sure of character's name at the moment) Debbie. She is the classic hollywood indian. She's gorgeous, wearing makeup, and shows no sign of living what must be a difficult life...
