It's easy, though it's not free. I use GoDaddy to register domains. I don't use them for hosting, but I do believe they have inexpensive options for that as well as email. They also have easy site building software. I'm sure they have tutorials.
So true. I've had domains for at least 25 years. It's so simple, and if you have a business, you look a lot more legitimate. I've suggested it to others many times, and not one has done it.
Weird, because that has never happened to me.
Yeah. No way 2,000 miles. About 100 at most for the best long range model.
In any case, before the stations started dropping transmission power, I got over 70 channels. Now I can still sometimes get that many, but it's very hit or miss, depending on the weather.
I actually got rid of cable over 20 years ago. At that time, I could pick up pretty much everything I wanted for TV using a couple antenna. However, in the last few years, the broadcast signal for a lot of local stations has gotten so weak that I can't pick them up reliably, or at all. And I...
I just want to agree with the complaints about the new AppleTV app. I'm using AppleTV streamers. Many movies no longer have a "landing" page. If you click on them, you don't get an info page. It just starts playing the movie. And TV shows... don't even get me started!
Todd, something occurred to me yesterday. Every Thursday during football season, I sit down to watch Thursday Night Football on Prime, and invariably my (Comcast) internet service starts getting wonky. Rapidly going in and out, constantly buffering, and so on. I'll often run some speed tests...
Sorry for the extended explanation in that last post. I'm just astounded by the degree of runaround "Customer Service" can send you on these days. Todd's comment about streaming device manufacturers and services just made me realize this trend might not be terribly uncommon.
This seems to be the new, general customer service evasion. It's not limited to streaming devices. The retailer insists problems are the responsibility of the manufacturer. The manufacturer insists problems are the responsibility of the retailer.
A recent, personal example. I purchased a...
My minor streaming annoyance I have is that the TV Shows app on the AppleTV frequently doesn't show purchased shows. I have to restart it, then they show up. This happens on all three ATV 4K units I have. One Gen 1 and two Gen2. It's really my only gripe with the ATV.
I have a simple solution. If a streaming service can't get things right on the Apple TV, they don't get any money from me. There's too much available to watch anyway.
I've had free TV for almost 20 years, and no cable fees. Crystal clear picture in HD and 5.1 DD surround. I did spend about $200 on long range antennas, but for 20 years of service, that's a bargain.
My streaming is entirely with the AppleTV, mostly the two 4K models, though I have a Gen 3 in the bedroom. My main complaint probably is the fault of the streaming companies, since I expect they design their apps. They seem to be making it increasingly difficult to simply look through my...
