    Question about my Subs

Something I want to add after some thought. This indicates the driver in the Polk is not actually a sub driver, but just a regular woofer. I'm not terribly surprised by that. A true sub driver should be physically incapable of reproducing that frequency. Not only does this indicate the...

    Question about my Subs

OK, that is strange. I don't think it's actually causing a problem, but it is a little odd. I want to emphasize, I don't think it's actually an indication of something being wrong. What I would try next is going into the speaker setup and running the manual channel level test, which will send...

    Question about my Subs

You can also swap the sub cables on the back of the receiver. See if the harmonic moves to the Klipsch. But of course, it's easy to see if that harmonic is coming from another speaker. But, that is weird. Unless the setup does that intentionally just so you can distinguish between the two...

    Question about my Subs

Something is definitely wrong. Are you absolutely positive no other speaker is playing along with the Polk? No subwoofer should even be capable of playing that harmonic you hear with the Polk. It sounds like it's around 1K Hz or more. Even if a sub was fed that frequency, it shouldn't be...

    Question about my Subs

    Question about my Subs

First, the speakers, all of them, should be set to "Small". I know, your speakers are full range floorstanding models. They should still be set to "Small'. Then you can adjust the high pass to them in the receiver. 80Hz is usually a good starting point. You need to make sure any crossovers...

    Question about my Subs

Welcome to HTF John. Would you tell us how the subwoofers are connected, and what the crossover configuration is in the speaker setup of the receiver? Also, there are other settings that affect the subs, like if they're set to "LFE" or "LFE+MAIN" and which speakers are set to "Large" or "Small".
