My first "serious" camera: Looking for thoughts on Canon EOS Rebel T2i or better

It probably doesn't make much difference, but you can't go wrong with Kingston, so I would probably get this one. http://www.meritline.com/kingston-8gb-sdhc2-class4-sd-card2---p-18667.aspx It is compatible with HD video, so should be many times faster than you need. Get more than one...

My first "serious" camera: Looking for thoughts on Canon EOS Rebel T2i or better

Ron, Meritline.com is a good place to get memory. Don't bother with the fastest possible rated memory. Those cards are incredibly cheap to manufacture and are the "Monster Cable" of the camera world.

Oh, Man edited his post. Yes, "filament" light sources are very predictable. Vapor lights are not at all predictable and sometimes simply can't be corrected for entirely. Of course, filament lights are becoming less common. It remains to be seen how easy or difficult LED light sources...

Only to say "Bless You" for pointing that out. I doubt it will get anyone to actually bother with it (filters have no place in a digital world, do they?), but I'm glad to see you try. You don't have to get it "spot on", just get it close. The improvement can be staggering.

Ron, as a former co-worker (from Texas, with a serious drawl) used to say. "I think you better give up photography and take up drinking." I hope you enjoy whatever you decide on, assuming everyone allows you to.

Ron, it depends on how concerned you are with having the very latest tech. It's not unheard of for an "improved" model to be a step back in several ways from the previous model. Genuine improvements in sensors, which is really all that counts, seems to have stabilized. I wasn't going to bring...

My first "serious" camera: Looking for thoughts on Canon EOS Rebel T2i or better

Carlo, I clarified my post, probably after you started responding. I suspect, for one, it is a legal thing. It would require the manufacturer to put an incorrect focal length on the lens. If the lens is 24mm, I expect they are required to call it 24mm. Now, of course, maybe they could put a...

Because a 24mm lens is a 24mm lens, not something else. Comparative focal lengths have always depended on the size of the sensor or film. Just one of those many things a person needs to know in order to understand photography. A 50mm lens on 35mm film is equivalent to a 75mm lens on 6x4.5 cm...

BTW Ron, I know the owner of OneCall personally, though I haven't been to Spokane and seen him in about 15 years. It really is a great operation.

It's a wonder anyone ever decides on anything with you guys "helping" them. [Edit: Yeah, that sounds harsh, but in all honesty, I meant it to, just in case anyone was curious.] This reminds me why I'm glad I no longer work in this field, either in retail sales, as a photographer or as a...
