If confirmed, it'll be interesting to see which character. Online fans have been suggesting Captain Britain for a while. An interesting idea someone mentioned on Twitter was Doctor Doom. Imagine, going from DC's (arguably) top superhero to Marvel's (arguably) top supervillain!

I am thinking the decision to produce a bunch of MCU content for D+ has turned out to be a mistake. I understand the desire to provide the fledgling streaming service some exclusive content, especially in the wake of the very popular Infinity Saga. On paper it sounded like a good idea (as a way...

I think a one-off Maguire Spidey 4 might work. I agree with @Jake Lipson that No Way Home provided great closures for both Maguire and Garfield. But fans who were invested in Peter’s relationship with Kirsten Dunst’s MJ (like me) would, I think, be interested to see where that is at. There was...

If the 3 tentpoles are what people want to see and are pretty good quality, then they can be pretty successful. Take 2019 with Captain Marvel, Endgame and Far From Home. All billion dollar grossers. 2019 was certainly not a typical year given the momentum from Infinity War, but it supports my...

I fully agree that quality control needs to be better, and the scripts need to be tighter. In some of the TV series, there are often moments that seem to drag. And the internal logic needs to be stronger as well.

The conventional wisdom/belief that late August/Labor Day weekends are for the "dregs" does seem to have been shattered by Shang-Chi's excellent returns back in 2021 (though that could have been due to audiences being starved of content during COVID and being forced to release that weekend due...

General Discussion Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase 5 General Discussion (Spoilers discussed for All Films -- Please Read First Post)

Since it's a new MCU film day (Guardians Vol 3), and since I'm a geek and like to analyze data, I thought I'd 1. update a runtime / "quality" comparison I did last year in the lead-up to Multiverse of Madness. 2. see if the data suggests that the MCU films post-Endgame have been "falling" in...

I don't mind that they tried something different (though I agree it's a sizeable leap from the 1st 2 smaller "heist" films to one with the responsibility of introducing Kang). The execution, however, was poor.

General Discussion Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase 5 General Discussion (Spoilers discussed for All Films -- Please Read First Post)

For me, one of the issues is they are leaving some of the sequel stories “short” and hence less satisfying. I’ve said before that the MCU is more complex now (more characters, deeper stories) and gets even more complex with each new entry, such that they haven’t been able to do service to...
