I was under the impression that most theaters nowadays don't even have dedicated projectionists any more. In other words, that $8/hour college-age "projectionist" is usually the same guy or girl who sells popcorn, collects tickets, or sweeps the floors. Am I misinformed?
Unless there are autofocus projectors nowadays (are there?), the quality of the focus depends on the quality of the projectionist's eyesight. And unfortunately, the projection booth is the worst location for judging the focus, because it's so far away from the screen.
I haven't noticed any...
