I'm not sure I quite understand the argument that it was never in the plan to have Deckard be a replicant. Scenes were shot that support that he was one. Different cuts of the film leave those scenes out, and other cuts include those scenes. Why plan these scenes at all, and then shoot...

Was watching the original BR and checked out the deleted scenes. Rachels line from the deleted scene from the end of the film, where Rachel and Deckard are driving away. Rachel says to Deckard "You and I were made for each other". Hah! Just..interesting in the context of the discussion.
