They should have never signed Cousins in the first place, not for that kind of money anyway, but if he gets hurt again, Penix gets immediate playing time. Easy to predict, if Kirk throws a bad INT in a key spot, there’ll be fans that want to see the youngster play. QB controversy on the horizon...
I guess these two teams needed proof that this was not a grand idea on the drawing board. You’d think the league and/or game officials wouldn’t have allowed this.
ESPN just did a little piece on free agent WR Tyler Boyd. As a Bengals fan, I can’t help but think how his dropped pass in Super Bowl 56 affected that game. Good riddance.
The Bills have to try something, and quick, to get over the hump, before the clock runs out on them. It’s definitely ticking away- might be too late for them, in their current configuration.
I didn’t read the article, because I know it’s horse shit, but the headline was about the Mayor of Dallas saying he would welcome the Chiefs into his market, now that the citizens of Kansas City voted to not give public funding that the Chiefs owner was requesting. Little or no chance the Chiefs...
My take on Pickett when I watched him play in a small sample size was he wasn’t a physically talented QB. The Steelers did the right thing by getting rid of all their QBs.
Yes I think he’s going to have to settle for being a backup for the rest of his career. Probably the same thing for Carson Wentz.
That story really is astounding how sudden his fall from grace was, by his own doing.
Someone at nfl.com made a very good point about Justin Fields, and his situation. Seems that potential openings for him are becoming scarce. That story will be interesting to watch.
My take is the $100 million guaranteed is for 2 seasons of playing. If he gets hurt again, or, like much of his career, comes up small in the big moments, he can get cut after 2025. I hate this move because the Falcons are just delaying their growth process by bringing this guy in. He’s not a...
NFL.com is reporting that the Saquon Barkley deal is for 3 years, $37.75 million. Seems a bit high, but I would think the Eagles have a built in escape clause- he gets hurt, he gets cut, with minimal damage against the cap.
4 year deal is absurd. Bad franchises are bad for numerous reasons.
Saquon Barkley to the Eagles.
I read that Cousins is getting $180 million over 4 years, $100 million guaranteed. Ridiculous.
Hard to believe that scuttlebutt about Cousins to the Broncos. I think they draft 12th, so they should pick the best available QB at that spot, or try and trade up, if they have enough assets to do so.
Hard to understand the move. Jones certainly isn’t being brought in to put pressure on Lawrence. The team has to make a big decision on whether giving franchise money to Trevor is the right move- this should be a make or break year for him.
Wow- Tampa signed WR Mike Evans to 2 years, $52 million. Seems that the market value for WRs is getting a bit out of hand.
They’ll likely overpay to keep Mayfield too.
NFL executive vice president of football operations Troy Vincent said changes to the kickoff are coming, due to the very low percentage of return attempts last season
(20%, according to an article I read). The scuttlebutt is the league may try what the XFL did, when that league rebooted a few...
Your team (or any other) would be better off looking elsewhere. A guy that averages 200 passing yards/game, and only 60% completion is not good enough in today’s game.
