The thing that was great about Ron's
reviews was that they were
unpretentious.
Like it or not, there are a lot
of film-fact-aholics
and one-uppers around HTF,
and Ron's comments were always free of that
attitude.
i will miss that.
Let's see...the lyric:
"I'm half crazy,
all for the love of you...it wont
be a stylish marriage.."
Now, why in the world do we know the
lyrics to this hundred year old song?
Perhaps because testy has been around
for a (seemingly) hundred years?
Hey, i've been out...why did Ron...
Two things:
First...do you guys always have consistant
computer time?
It is feast or famine with me...and now
i find myself catching up on all my HTF stuff.
Second: Hey Mike,
Next time we talk about a disc like
WEST SIDE STORY, lets just do it here...
I hardly own a disc without...
This was one of those lean birthday years..
I'm in transition right now...jobwise, relationshipwise.citywise....not much celebrating was able to happen, so...thanks, mike:emoji_thumbsup:
Thanks Steve..Lots of March birthdays indeed.
As i creep further toward fort--uh, turning
twenty for the second time--i have this weird feeling remembering how ancient my parents were at that age.
38 feels good so far:)
Yeah, I'm the kid here as well....1965.
Hmmm...what is with the all the March birthdays..mine
is coming up (subtle hint).
Must be the result of some summer lovin'...
"the annual drunken barn dance":D
I'd love to smile for you, but
i glued my lips shut. The Osmond Family
was trying to make me sing "I'm a little
bit country, I'm a little bit rock and roll".
But,
here is my prosthetic smile.:D
Cool.:emoji_thumbsup:
Most of my own posts
were in thread killer...so
I'm still only hovering around 500.
Wiped the smile right off my face...
But i kinda dig glorious black and white...
Cool.
Thanks.
I'm such a pacifist, i guess.
It was really just a fart in my direction,
not an attack, but i still didn't enjoy it...
Didn't wipe my grin away though...yet.
No, Jack it was the "any reviews of imitation of life" thread.
It was a fine line thing...where intelligence was being commented on rather than opinion....
better if i'd ignored it.
So, i came to testy for some Monty Python transcripts and some good laughs.;)
(and where people already know i...
Anybody ever get their ass kicked in a thread?
I was talking about this movie that i like, that
is really over the top, IMITATION OF LIFE...
and some dude tells me, basically, that I'm obviously not a true "cinephile",
and finding myself superior to the material
and that i must be...
Not sure but i think Rain's nosigpic might have
been temporary..
Actually, mine might be temporary as well.
I've been dared to find a pic of me NOT smiling...
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....
Here's one.
"every little breeze seems to whisper Louise"...
oh, that's Louise, not Gigi, but...speaking
of breezes and ill winds, they are getting cranky over there in that Atkins diet thread. I wonder why i even read it (reaching for more lard and carbs), it
really got me down, and...
"If i were hours late for dinner would you bellow?
If i forgot your silly birthday would you fuss?
Would you complain if i took out another fellow?
Why can't a woman...
BE LIKE US?"
Despite the Hbomb clouds,
I feel safer in this thread.
Do any of you venture out a lot into the
wild, wild world of HTF?
Lots of people very concerned with
correcting grammar and syntax than actually
reading what someone has to say...
I do not post negative comments...
well, I suppose I...
Yes, 1978 was a GREASE-ey year for me, too.
I was thirteen, and i had my
first experience in a movie theater......
No, not with that..:D
with surround sound.
It was the first time that our local
movie house ( a pre-multiscreen-plex, imagine that)
was outfitted with speakers throughout the...
