This is a random surprise.
Two theaters around me -- a Cinemark and an AMC -- are opening The Green Knight again on Friday despite the fact that it already played in those theaters back in July and August. It appears that A24 must be pushing a nationwide re-release for some reason.
I loved...
I can't speak for Lowery but I don't think the early cut currently exists in the sense of a releasable version of the film. Every movie has an early cut and then the director refines it to get to what they want. It seems to me that the theatrical release is the version that Lowery wants the...
I already subscribe to them so that should be no problem.
Edit: I just went to the A24 website and looked over some of their other releases. They look like they are very nicely put together with a lot of worthwhile stuff. But they are currently $50 shipped. If that is what Lowery is talking...
Thanks for posting this. I would probably not have seen that otherwise.
I was going to buy the version coming out on October 12, but with this information I'm thinking that I might wait for the more elaborate edition to avoid a double dip.
Here is an interview with Daniel Hart, who composed the score for the film:

I haven't seen this posted here yet. Here is David Lowery going over the scene in which the titular Green Knight is introduced. Obviously, don't watch this if you haven't seen the movie yet.
For anybody who can't go to the theater right now, The Green Knight is now available to rent from streaming vendors such as Amazon as a premium rental for $19.99. I'm pretty sure this grants a 48-hour viewing period.
I really enjoyed the movie, but I will wait untill the Blu-ray release to see...
Both my art house and my local multiplex booked The Green Knight this weekend. I decided to go at the arthouse, where they have been smart enough to reinstate a mask mandate in line with recent CDC recommendations. That absolutely made me feel more comfortable attending.
I think that is...
I think David Lowery is a terrific filmmaker, so I'm in for this. At the moment, I don't know if I will feel comfortable to go theatrically or if it will be a blind buy of the eventual disc. But I'm sure I'll see it one way or the other.
