Well, in fairness to UPS, I must happily retract my previous statement in post #657. My delivery showed up at 9:38pm. I was really surprised that UPS was out that late making deliveries, since I thought they stopped earlier in the evening than that. But it is here on the release date after...
That's usually the case here, too -- the last package prior to this one that they sent via UPS was in the middle of May. The vast majority of their deliveries come through their own service now, but every once in a while they'll use UPS. I don't remember the last time they used the post...
Well, UPS failed to deliver my book pre-order on time today. It's been "out for delivery" since 4:21 a.m, so I'm not sure what's up with that. It's not actually a huge deal that I didn't get the book today, and I'm not really planning to raise a stink about it with Amazon just yet. But I'm...
Among things that Amazon would consider nonessentials, I've been buying a lot of books. Since I can't go out to see a movie or a play, I'm glad a lot of authors I read have had new books scheduled for this time, which is a complete coincidence but which gives me a new thing to keep me occupied...
Amazon has been doing pretty well by me in the last few months, using almost entirely their own delivery method. Back in early May, I had a book that was shipped out by them on time to arrive on its Tuesday release date, but it Took almost four or five days for it to arrive via UPS. Since...
That makes no sense. Naturally.
Amazon has been doing pretty well by me lately -- only one delivery in the past few months has been late (via UPS, for reasons similar to the BS they gave you), but this report makes me very glad I don't have an order with Amazon this week. I went with...
Yeah. I've gotten a few orders that have been later than they would have been in a non-pandemic world, but that's fine. By and large, I have been very satisfied with Amazon's ability to still get me my orders within a reasonable timeframe given current circumstances. Is it perfect? No, but...
My pre-order of Little Women, which was to arrive Thursday, showed up today. A gift order of another Blu-ray I sent to a friend also looks like it's going to show up earlier than the delivery window estimated. So they are doing just fine for me right now.
I am not going to overwhelm them with...
A couple years ago now, Amazon had a policy where if they missed a promised delivery for a Prime member, they would give you a free month of Prime as a make-good. You had to go into chat and ask for it, but they did it upon request. I took advantage of this benefit a few times. They don't do...
Alright...so...MY copy of the same CD as Amazon already shipped to my friend back on Tuesday has still not shipped out yet. They sent a completely worthless email to me apologizing for the delay in shipping my order without providing a new delivery estimate. But -- since I ordered two copies...
Although this isn't for a Blu-ray, I had a surprise this morning from Amazon behaving like they did back through 2014 or so.
This week, I have two copies of the same CD, which is a new release coming out on Friday, pre-ordered. One is coming to me, and the other is a gift order for a friend in...
Well, Missing Link is firmly on the way....but the CD I was expecting to get today is not.
Late last night, I got an Amazon rep to admit that they would miss the delivery date listed in my account because they have no inventory of it -- new orders are listed as shipping within 1-2 months and...
Good to know. Thanks. Whenever they are fully consolidated, I will no longer trust Amazon to deliver Fox discs either, but for right now Missing Link did finally ship out at 12:57pm according to the timestamp on the email, which seems awfully late, but I got it.
I also have a CD pre-order...
I mentioned this in the Roundup thread for this week just now, but thought it would be worth posting here as well.
My pre-order of Missing Link (which should arrive tomorrow) has not shipped yet, and I can still cancel it -- not that I want to cancel it, but the option exists, which means that...
That is a really good result. You must have had a very accommodating rep.
I just placed an order for a book and a CD (two completely unrelated items, but I want both so put them into the same order.) Both are in stock now (i.e. not pre-orders.) It's late Tuesday night here as I'm typing...
Reading through this thread reminds me how lucky I've been with regard to Amazon, because the vast majority of the time things arrive promptly and are fine.
A couple weeks ago now there was an odd situation with The Art and Making of Aladdin by Emily Zelmer (which is an awesome book, by the...
This to me is the most irritating thing about dealing with Amazon reps. They make promises that we both know they are in no position to be able to keep, probably because they are told to, and it doesn't actually help anyone to do that.
My family just renewed our Prime membership after two free monthly extensions due to late packages. Other than those two incidents, we've had no problems getting things on time. The majority of the time, Amazon uses USPS and things just come with our mail.
