I'm not quite at the ending yet but watched another two-parter last night, the brilliant "Landscape with Running Figures", shows I guess how I'm taking my time with this great show.

I was always pleasantly surprised how season 2 continued the greatness of season 1 and at times felt it even topped the first, the first couple of season 2 episodes are incredibly strong and excellent. I'm merely close to being about halfway through season 3 now, so I do hope some real corkers...

I'd say the first two seasons were definitely the very best, as good as classic 1960s telly gets, the third is a mixed bag for me so far (music issues notwithstanding series lowpoint being Conspiracy of Silence) and the forth season shall remain to be seen...

Sometimes bad things occur and new steps are taken resulting in unfortunate measures happening to classics if they're popular enough (think Deliverance or Dirty Harry's current makeover in movies), maybe they were trying to turn it into something it's not like appealing to fans of modern noise...

There's always the chance you might miss a few gems this way Joe that you might otherwise have liked, by going back and forth between seasons, other than that I agree the great thing about these old shows is that each episode (apart from occasional 2-parters) has a concluding story and it's on...
