The transfer looks fine to me. It's nothing special, but it looks better than the screen captures I've seen from the French blu-ray.

I got my copy of Atlantic City this week and watched it right away. It's a shame this excellent film didn't get more than a bare bones treatment, but at least we have it on blu-ray.
