I can’t say I liked the ending much either. They should have just not engaged with Gordon in 2025 and just planned to continue to 2015 after mining the di-notlithium in the first place.
Barring that, it was just plain cruel to tell him what they were going to do.
I think this is what has bugged me with the lack of humor so far this season. McFarlane‘s not a great actor but his dry joke delivery is funny and makes up for some of that. Playing the show entirely straight just doesn’t work very well for me. It just seems like a lesser TNG clone without it...
The space battle with all of those ships so close together just looked ridiculous.
Other than I think it’s the best episode of the season so far.
But not a bit subtle.
I suppose the subject matter for this episode didn't really lend itself to much humor, and it's good that they dealt with the obvious Isaac problem head on rather than just ignore it.
But I don't see why Isaac didn't just resign rather than the route he took.
