There is going to be a new Monk TV movie on Peacock. Tony Shalhoub mentioned it while promoting the 5th and final season of Mrs. Maisel. It was supposed to start filming in Canada in May. It may be postponed due to the writer's strike. I thought this might be a reason for the blu ray release of...

So "Secret of the Incas" was released in 1954 and was pre Vista Vision. KINO is releasing it at 1.85. Is this correct as apposed to 1:66 ? I think there was a big discussion about this somewhere as it was previously at 1:33 on VHS and DVD which was thought to be incorrect..

THE CRUSADES (1935) Starring Loretta Young The film was made directly after "Call of The Wild" so Loretta Young was pregnant with Clark Gable's daughter during the production of this film. Guess you will have to look close to see if noticeable on blu ray.

"Since You Went Away" and I'll Be See You" both sold out and out of print on KINO website are still available at Amazon at $15.58 and $14.99 respectively. Amazon shows both have only 9 copies left as of this writing. Amazon listing says more on the way but I doubt it .

Is there any history of Paramount updating their digital movies to 4K when Kino releases a 4K version of a Paramount picture? I know the Paramount deal is still new. "The Longest Yard" (1974) is not 4K on iTunes and has just been announced as a KINO 4K release.

With the announcement of The Last Train from Madrid (1937) for Dorothy Lamour fans here is a Youtube video of her live on stage from 1990 singing Broadway Baby from Sondheim's Follies. Production was in Long Beach, California. Unfortunetely it was filmed from far away so you can barely see her...

All for "The Naked Jungle". As its 1954 it shouldn't be 1:33 as its always appeared on TV and home video but what is it supposed to be? They should include the radio play with William Conrad, as Leiningen, who was also in the film as the Commissioner . Based on the short story "Leiningen...

The situation with music rights is not always the same for all music. Paramount may hold the rights for the music In the Elvis films because the music most likely was written for these movies and includes the use of the music everywhere. This is different from something like "Looking For Mr...

In interviews Sheldon Harnick mentions that his and Jerry Bock's first choice for Tevye was Howard DaSilva (Benjamin Franklin in 1776). When Jerry Robbins joined the team he said DaSilva would play it as real and they needed someone bigger than life and suggested Zero Mostel.

A recording of the revival of Fiddler with Zero Mostel was made for Library at Lincoln Center. Sadly because as you mentioned Zero would shamelessly adlib that Jerome Robbins put severe restictions on who is allowed to see the recording. I believe it is only available to theater professionals...

I have read speculation that the reason for the release of all these 4K MGM owned films quickly is being done because once Amazon completes its purchase of MGM they will reserve the MGM films for Amazon Prime and stop releasing discs. Thoughts?
