i'd rather see them release the shows as original as possible,
in kind of rough(er) condition, than see them try to OVER-restore the shorts, and using those f'd up ones for a dvd set.
these are owned and being released by CBS/Paramount,
not the H-B Archive.
i thought Jeannie was under Copyright/Ownership by Sony?
don't know about Mork & Mindy, but that WAS part of the block of shows with the Fonz and L&S cartoons, so it's possible this might be released later?
on that...
alright i just checked the bluray forum, that has a thread where people actually post....
so 1 episode having missing laugh tracks seems to be the only issue with this set.
but the laugh track part for that episode seems to be lost anyway.
restored and original intro = yes
restored and original...
according to TVShowsonDVD's FB page, the studio has not given them ANY info on rather or not the episodes of The Jetsons are actually restored with original intro/end credits and NO title cards etc., of if they are infact just blatant copies of the previously released DVD set.
why not just release whatever you have in lesser quality, for DVD only, and everything that CAN be restored to high quality for both DVD AND Blu-Ray?
at this point these shows are so old,
we just want them released regardless.
if it helps any, the Australian Boomerang recordings available, have at least 1 episode with the swirling star end credits AND the taft company line intact.
i'm assuming those swirling star end credits were added later, and aren't actually part of the episodes? which is why they are probably...
no issues on the Boomerang tv recording i have..
so must be a blu-ray issue, or maybe whatever source they used the episode from.
person says it's a direct recording of the entire 2 hour block, recorded by their mom back then.
also says it was recorded in 1988....
which i believe, because if...
weirdly coincidental or not, someone uploaded a USA Cartoon Express recording to the Archive . org site very recently, that has this episode included, recording is in good quality, so i grabbed the episode from that :)
anything they can't get the rights to, they WILL simply ignore,
and move on to a different show they CAN release.
going to court over music copyright they don't own, would be an instant loss, completely pointless, and would most likely cost money.
which again is pointless to spend , when you...
for Quick Draw , we were told around 2007, that they had plans to release it, but the material they had, to work with, was too poor quality, and restoring it would cost a lot of money..... so they skipped over it. there may or may not have also been money issues to get the musical...
it is NOT a joke, there are multiple rights issues,
considering we don't know what the issues are,
it could very well have nothing to do with Warner simply not paying up for the episode....
perhaps some people involved in the episode, just don't want it to be released, nothing Warner could do...
on the topic of missing shows,
could someone help me with an issue here...
i could have sworn that Hokey Wolf had an episode aired on Cartoon Express, that used a different title?
i know it was "Hokey's Missing Millions" ,
but they retitled it to something like "Hokey Millionaire" or something...
no money? a region free dvd player costs like 30 or 40 us dollars, no?
so you CAN buy dvd's, and are waiting for blu-ray titles etc, but "HAVE NO MONEY FOR A REGION FREE DVD PLAYER"
yeah, makes total sense...... (super sarcasm implied here)
easy, you build your own collection from as high quality possible TV recordings / 16 or 35 mm transfers/ etc / etc....
that's what i've been doing since like 2005,
and i'm missing almost nothing, not counting the 1980's/1990's,
since most of those shows i don't care for.
why would a UK release have a sticker? on it that says "AUSTRALIA'S Favorite Cartoon Star" ????
that just shows to me, it's def. NOT a UK release.
also i'm assuming the rights overseas and or difference between VHS/DVD are different....
something that could have been released on VHS in the...
both Jeannie and babu are present in the Scooby-Doo movies episode, for them to have cleared this one, it most certainly opens up the question on rather or not they can indeed release the '73 animated series.
i hope so as well, i would def. buy that......
as for the original opening of the new...
technically they are around 45 to 48 min. per episode, but including commercials the show did indeed lasted an hour, hence why it was called The Flintstone Comedy HOUR
which is part of the reason why i do not believe they would just toss these shows into the mix....
it's possible they are...
def. DO NOT believe that The Flintstone Comedy Hour is among those....
we're talking the full 1 hour length episodes here,
not the 30 min. chopped up Comedy Show episodes...
The Banana Splits was canned or shelved back in 2007 or something, i doubt they are gonna pick that back up, unless something changed and they have a better way/more money/whatever to restore the material they do have....
there's no H in the name, it's ---> CATtanooga Cats......
you know...
i changed my mind about Jonny Quest,
i'll see when this is out, if it is indeed all restored properly....
i might just buy it....
The Jetsons, now that is a must buy.....
if they have the original opening, and NO title cards...
newly remastered footage......
that sounds nice, but honestly i care more about the episodes being uncut and having their original end credits intact per episodes etc...
as for the Smurfs,
just get season 1, and then buy season 2 to 9 from amazon.co.uk
get yourself a region free dvd player, and you're all done....
easy as that..........
i don't have the dvd version of that Flintstones episode to compare, i only have a TV recording and the web-dl from the Boomerang streaming service.......
but there is either roughly 2 or 3 min. of footage missing from the DVD version that IS intact on the TV airing and Boomerang streaming...
