From what i have been reading it might well be that studio's will not see revenue from Chinese profits.

    Man of Steel (2013)

Looks like the next film will have Batman and Superman in it. http://variety.com/2013/film/news/superman-and-batman-movie-comic-con-1200565858/ I'm unsure about how they will make this work, i think a direct sequel would be better but the comic book movie fans will love it.

    Man of Steel (2013)

Some tough competition coming up in the next month, i think Man Of Steel will drop substantially, there might be a chance if it does well in China but i think Superman doesn't have the same international appeal anymore that for example an Avengers film does have. You can remind me of how wrong...

    Man of Steel (2013)

I don't think it will get anywhere near $800m worldwide, if it does then yes i agree with you it will be very good, my opinion is it will make between $500m and $600m worldwide.

    Man of Steel (2013)

I think they mean Star Trek Into Darkness, Iron Man 3 probably exceeded their expectations.

    Man of Steel (2013)

Its good box office but not so good when you look at the overall cost of the production and some other films that have been made in the genre, mind you i have doubts about the claimed budget, i think the studio's do fiddle these figures, i mean a Bond film took over a billion worldwide last...

Unlike Man Of Steel this thread has more stamina and has been going a long time now.

    Man of Steel (2013)

$113m dollar opening weekend and $125m dollars in total, i think Warner Bros will be happy with that, now let's see if it has legs and continues to make money next week and beyond. P.S. Spoilers in the last post, you might want to add a spoiler tag, i now know something i shouldn't.

    Man of Steel (2013)

Yes, in Smallville it was certainly used that way.

    Man of Steel (2013)

Almost the polar opposite of the first review i read, i can see i'm going to have to watch it for myself and make my own mind up.

    Man of Steel (2013)

Not hate, that's a strong word, i'm just replying to the review, i'll probably find plenty to like about the film.

    Man of Steel (2013)

Thanks for the above link, i just read the review, It does seem to be a modern day problem with films in that they need to spell everything out, are audiences today really that stupid, it sounds like they might have forgotten to give this film a heart, that's something the original Christopher...

    Man of Steel (2013)

To answer my own question about General Zod and the others and whether they also have super powers, well the BBFC website was helpful. "In the second half of the film, General Zod and his allies arrive on Earth to kill Superman. They all have the same superpowers as Superman and their battles...

    Man of Steel (2013)

I think its because he is a natural born Kryptonian, as mentioned above, he is the first born naturally in generations, maybe Zod and the others aren't and because of that don't have any powers, i hope not, i would like Superman to have a real challenge with his own kind being able to match his...

    Man of Steel (2013)

So does General Zod and his cohorts have super powers in this new film or are they the same as humans but with armour and better technology. ?

    Man of Steel (2013)

Good actress though and i think she will pull it off.

    Man of Steel (2013)

That's true, although it was the live action show Lois and Clark i was referring to earlier in the thread.
  21. FoxyMulder

    Man of Steel (2013)

Does this mean Zod and the other Kryptonians have no powers and cannot fly this time around. ?
  22. FoxyMulder

    Man of Steel (2013)

More original than we usually get and i never read the comics and i would argue that most of the potential audience for the film will never have read the comics either.
  23. FoxyMulder

    Man of Steel (2013)

I think they got some of their inspiration for this new movie from the nineties television show of Superman, in that show they had Kryptonians come to Earth in a spaceship just like we see in the trailer for Man of Steel, i think originality is dead in Hollywood, if it ever really existed...

    Man of Steel (2013)

Doesn't Superman train in the fortress of solitude so in effect he is ready for the challenges ahead of him.
  25. FoxyMulder

    Man of Steel (2013)

Yes, hopefully the film will have some heart and soul among all the CGI effects.

    Man of Steel (2013)

Just viewing the latest trailer, lots of action but it all seems a bit cold and typical of modern day films to me. http://www.imdb.com/list/2of6ofdWndc/?ref_=hm_3p_vi3#lb-1

    Man of Steel (2013)

I think we need a superhero tax.

    Man of Steel (2013)

Works now, maybe a browser cache issue, its the same one labelled an ideal of hope that i listened to over at YouTube.
  29. FoxyMulder

    Man of Steel (2013)

I listened to one called an ideal of hope, i like it, parts of it remind me of the John Williams theme when they are on Krypton at the beginning then it gets to the part with the drums ( snare ? ) and it reaches a crescendo, potentially very good, looking forward to hearing more.
