I'd love to see movie Storm lose her powers as she did in the comic for a time. I remember after she lost her powers she fought Cyclops (who had powers) for leadership of the X-men and kicked his butt. Ah, the good old days...

The evidence in the first movie suggests that her TK is not that powerful at all. IMO opinion her most impressive display in X1 was during a montage where she "threw" a number of discs at Cyclops and when she stopped Toad in mid-air. To go from that to taking out missiles is a pretty big step.

She absorbed her flight, super strength and near invulnerability from Carrol Danvers aka Ms. Marvel. This is her history in the comic as well as the 90's cartoon as there was an episode that explained her origin.
