    Barbie (2023)

I'll probably just wait until.I can see.this film without having to pay for it. I don't care about FOMO and it doesn't seem like a film that I need to see on a big screen. Of course, that is not unique to this film. I have been finding it hard to scrape up enthusiasm for theatre viewings...

    Barbie (2023)

Nolan's probably cringing that his opus has become completely associated with a film about a.plastic toy. Who knew there were so many Barbie fans where I live. The film is absolutely crushing Oppenheimer at the local shitplex.

    Barbie (2023)

They certainly did a masterful hype job for this film. This is the first film in quite a while that has sold out the 2130 showing at my local shitplex.

Guess you were watching different TV then I was, because I disb't see any advertising for the film. I didn't see any internet trailers; however, I did see a trailer in front a couple of films that I went to see, bit, frankly, I think the advertising campaign for the film was anemic and using...

Yeah, but I'm not sure "Elemental" has the legs to really recoup its full costs. I blame Universal for most of the failure of Ruby Gillman. They did almost zero to promote it. It wasn't of Dreamworks best films, but it also wasn't a complete turd that didn't deserve to have a proper promotional...

    Barbie (2023)

Original films haven't been doing well compared.to sequels and remakes. Frankly, the family audience has nothing to do with the success of this film. There have been two family friendly original films, Elemental and Ruby Gillman: Teenage Kraken in release before this film and both haven't done...

    Barbie (2023)

I thought it was funny and obviously a joke, but the joke fails when you have to explain it.

    Barbie (2023)

Because it's lead character is a product made.for 7 year old girls? The movie itself looks like it is designed for 7 year.old girls that have grown up and want to see their childhood deconstructed and Barbie turned into a "real" girl. Not sure how big the audience is going to be for that. To...

    Barbie (2023)

A Space Odyssey parody doesn't seem like an ideal way to sell this film to parents either. 2001: ASO doesn't strike me as a film that the average parent would have any knowledge or care about. It only works for film fans with an interest in SF.

    Barbie (2023)

If children are the main target audience for this film then a parody of the "Dawn of Man" sequence from 2001: A Space Odyssey does not exactly look like the smartest way of generating interest in a demographic that doesn't even know that 2001: A Space Odyssey exists.

    Barbie (2023)

I at least wait for a trailer.before I decide if a film looks like trash, so I'll reserve judgment.
