I just did a google search and came across a few threads on hometheaterspot.com regarding the upgrade. Someone there claims that they have sent their unit off to be upgraded in the U.S. Does anyone know if the upgrade is available? I am really starting to get bothered by how long it's taking...

I highly doubt DTS 96/24 wouldn't be included. Would they really not release features in Singapore but they would have them in Europe? That would be really unfortunate and they would get an earfull from me.

As I stated in an earlier post, the update was supposed to be rolled out this summer, after the introduction of the 8300.

To those who've done the upgrade, is the data stream sensor (the peak indicator) still as sensitive? Some CDs I play make the PEAK indicator light wildly. I am hoping they fixed that. Most people feel it's too sensitive.

I talked to my store's rep today who spoke to a Marantz rep last week. The Marantz rep said the upgrade won't be out until the 8300 is released in the U.S, sometime this summer. Chris, if you read carefully, some of the hardware has been changed. The hardware upgrade is in regard to bringing the receiver to full compliance with DTS 96/24, or so they say.

Because no one cares. I am happy to have my problem solved. According to many people, the delay is not a problem but I view it as one. It is getting fixed. I will pay the 300 dollars in the hopes that it solves my problems with the receiver and ensures future updates. By paying them to do it...

I talked to the Marantz rep today and they said the upgrade is coming to the U.S. Obviously, it has not been announced yet. The announcement should be coming shortly. Just keep checking the website he said. :)

Actually my battery usage is pretty good. It's when stuff touches the remote and leaves it on for a while it goes dead. I contacted my dealer about the upgrade today and he had not heard anything yet. Makes sense, as it's not on the Americas Marantz page. I am going to contact Marantz directly...

I forgot to mention how excited I am for no more audio delay! Such a fantastic receiver marred by that damn delay....

All I have to say is THANK GOD! Now I just need to hear this for U.S. customers such as myself.
