    I saw Cleopatra on my own when it first opened in 70mm and thought it a colossal bore. I later saw it on general release with a girlfriend in a heavily cut version when it seemed much better!

    I’m sure that all the Todd AO films I saw in the U.K. were shown on slightly curved screens, including the Dominion in London. It was surely part of the specification for the format. Nothing like Cinerama of course.

    Stephen Boyd I think you mean! The Third Secret was released in the U.K. by Indicator in February. It looks very good. It was the first time I’d seen the film and frankly I hated it.

    "The Big Fisherman" wasn't actually a Walt Disney film though, was it? It was an independently produced film made in 70mm and acquired by Disney for release (or as things have turned out; suppression!). I don't know what the film credits say but the posters say "Centurion Films presents".

    I saw some of it but is it from the 4K transfer? Picture was rather soft and the color looks a bit washed out to me. The BBC have certainly shown it in past years'.

    As a child in the 1950s I became very aware when seeing Fox films that DeLuxe color was never as brilliant as Technicolor, I always enjoyed the Fox fanfare and CinemaScope screen but was always disappointed when seeing that Deluxe color credit on the title.
