Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Leigh Brackett wrote an Empire script but it was totally wacko and out there and was discarded. Lucas credits Leigh out of respect. You can read about Leigh's script in the Annotated Screenplays. It's pretty interesting. So saying Empire is a great Leigh Brackett screenplay is just wrong.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Lucas talked about the third film being darkest of the bunch and probably making half as much as the others before even Episode 1 came out.

I think Anakin's hesitation is because he's already hiding the marriage from the Jedi order and now he'll have to hide this as well. Just another pressure on him in the 1/3rd of the film.

What's the "droid slice" cut from TPM? My theory on cutting Anakin kills Shaak Ti is either to boost the shock of Anakin killing younglings (ie: it's the first deed you see him do) or there are plans to make Shaak Ti one of the Jedi that didn't return to the temple and survived and to be...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Vader dominates Luke in ESB because Luke is an untrained Jedi with no control. Worrying about OT lightsaber battles being slow compared to the PT is kinda silly.. in OT here are the participants: Vader: mostly a machine, probably rusty abilities. OB1: Old fossil, eroded skills...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

The "Noooooooo!" is Vader from the future. Okay just speculating there but would be a slick tie-in.. though if I recall, it doesn't sound anything like it. I can pretend.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

I watched ROTJ to complete my week of the entire saga, including all Clone Wars.. In my opinion, the last reel definitely saves Jedi. Luke's fury is easily one of the best segments in the entire 6-films. And talking with his father at his death has a lot more weight after the prequel trilogy...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

There must be a reason Shaak Ti's death was cut.. it could be because Lucas plans to use her in the TV series.

Maybe he was eager for him to rejoin the fight cause he knew he'd get owned :)

All of her scenes were in the rebel alliance scenes, all of which were axed (2-3 of them in the screenplay). I don't think she was targeted cause of Playboy.

What's Palpatine looking at when Anakin comes in to tell him Obi Wan has engaged GG? It's a red computer readout and it kinda looks like the Death Star on the right.. kinda cool if it is.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

This might be better in the full 6 film discussion but it relates to ROTS so I'd like to hear opinions. In the new ESB DVD, Lucas altered the Emperor communication scene.. it now says "The son of Anakin Skywalker" and Vader replies "How is that possible?" That's all good because as we know...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Kain "Your father wanted you to have this when you were old enough." - Obi to Luke. - Anakin doesn't even know Luke exists. Anakin dropped the saber after he got his limb cut off. Obi-Wan LIED.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Why are people being such a stickler on "Why doesn't Obi recognize R2 and 3PO???" How do you know he doesn't? Because he says he doesn't? He also says Vader killed Luke's papa.. he also says Luke's dad wanted him to have the saber.. lies, lies, lies. Watch ANH with the angle that Obi has ONE...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

To everyone who says Grevious and the wookie planet were pointless, they are required story elements to get Obi Wan and Yoda away from Courscant and Anakin.. they have to be gone when he goes ballistic on the temple, otherwise the story can't get to its climax. Now you could say you could...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

In ANH, Han also says "This is where the fun begins" when they're outrunning the Star Destroyers.. Anakin says it in the opening space battle.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

I watched ANH tonight after watching ROTS yesterday and there are so many fun moments enhanced with ROTS. - It's fun to watch thinking that Obi knows exactly who R2-D2 and C3PO are.. I don't think Lucas planned it that way in 1977 but even some of Alec's lines like "I never remember owning a...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

I don't think Leia is remembering Queen Organa.. Luke asks her about her REAL mother. She could be remembering what she was told by her adoptive parents ("She died when I was very young") or you could certainly argue in the logic of Star Wars and force-sensitive Leia, being held by Obi-Wan...
